They look for anomalies instead of alarms, patterns instead of isolated events, and early signals instead of obvious outcomes. Their role is not to replace human judgment, but to extend it—to reduce noise, surface meaning, and allow human operators to intervene earlier, with better information and less urgency.
As these systems mature, intelligence itself becomes infrastructure. Just as electricity and connectivity reshaped cities, embedded intelligence is reshaping how physical spaces are secured. It no longer lives only in centralized control rooms or cloud dashboards. It exists at the edge, in cameras, sensors, towers, and autonomous systems that can interpret their surroundings in real time.
